Preparing for Christmas is a favorite tradition. We love decking out the halls. There are many things on our to-do list: hanging lights along the banister with string, hanging garlands and decorations for Christmas stairs and trimming the tree with Christmas ornaments. Even though none of this is visible outside your home, the Christmas window candles are easily visible inside.
You can find the best Christmas window candle brands online. The flameless electric taper is the most commonly used. It adds warmth to your home without creating fire hazards. Select from electric tapers with wax, remote-controlled tapers and battery-operated versions. No Christmas display is complete without window candles. Since the English occupation in Ireland in the 17th century, the tradition of lighting a candle through a window has been a part of Irish culture since then. Catholics in those days would put a candle on the windows to show that they were secure. They could explain to authorities that it was just a Christmas decoration when they were questioned. The tradition spread to the United States through Irish immigrants. A candle in the windows was used in times past to allow friends and family to locate your house at night.
We continue the tradition today during the holidays when friends and family are in our thoughts. Many people prefer LED candles as they’re safer. Here’s a comparison of three LED Christmas window candle models. Let’s start with the Kithouse Christmas WindowLED Candles. Are You Looking For The Best Electric/Battery Window Light Candles?
Circus Peanut hello folks! I was wondering if anyone has any input about which brands of single, electric, or battery-operated candlesticks you use to light your holiday windows.
These are all made in China. But, is it the same quality? Do certain stores offer better/nicer/durable options? Any made anywhere else than China.
Thanks for all your suggestions!
QVC’s Bethelehem Lights candle is what I own. They are powered by either a constant-on sensor, a timer, or steady on battery. You can use the timer to make life easier. It is easy to program the timer so that they come on exactly when you expect them. Each day they turn on themselves, and then stay on for another eight hours. They are made from antique brass with a brushed nickel base. These can be adjusted to fit your windowsash.
Because I had two sets, I was able to get them for $40.00 for four during Christmas 2010 (they were very cheap at that time). Mine were in the last year, two weeks before Thanksgiving. One set lasted me until New Years. The battery is 3 C. The light is really bright.
All this being said, I had a set before these from Walgrens for maybe $10.00 for 4, same setup with battery and timer, except they only stayed on 6 hours. They were also taller and stayed on for longer so I went to QVC.
I’m no help but hopefully some of the other gals can direct you to the best ones. I just wanted to say Hello and welcome to our Forum.

Although window candles make a lovely and stylish way of decorating your home for Christmas. But, it’s also a hassle if you do not choose the most cordless candle.
I completely recommend you use cordless, battery-operated candles and stop messing around with having all kinds of cords in every room of your house.
The battery-powered candles were not very durable or of good quality. However, today there is a wide range of cordless windows candles.

Christmas Candles In Window Meaning And Tradition Explained
If you’re curious about why people place Christmas candles in their windows, or simply want to know the history behind it, this tradition dates back to an early Irish tradition. It was introduced to America during colonial times.
According to Catholic traditions, it is done to welcome Catholic priests to your home during Christmas.
Irish Catholics used the candle tradition to pray that the priest would pass by the window on their journey. As a token of welcome, the candle symbolized that the priest was allowed to visit.
Although evidence suggests that candles were placed in windows during colonial America, it wasn’t until around 20th-century America when electrical candles became available for use in windows that this trend took root.
Today, candles are not used to decorate. Instead, they serve as a decorative element that adds light to your home and makes it more welcoming during holidays.
Most people opt to put candles in their windows during Christmas as they don’t have to worry about stringing lights outside and because it is simpler than having one candle.
