The Best Cordless Blower
Ego has a run time of nearly 30 minutes, which is the longest we have tested cordless blowers. The Ego has simple-to-use controls and powerful airflow, but is heavier than the corded ones and more costly.
Amazon. $299 at Lowe’s. Although it has a runtime of approximately 27 minutes (on high), this is still a lot more than the Ego LB5804’s 30 minutes, although it is much less powerful. Even though the EgoLB5604 has less leaf-blasting power than corded models it was able to perform better in testing. However its concentrated airstream is more efficient at getting underneath dense, wet leaves. However, the negatives include weight and high cost. This cordless handheld weighs approximately 10 pounds more than either the Toro’s nor Worx and comes in at about $300. You get the best value for money. It’s a smart purchase if your goal is to grow the collection of Ego lawn tools (including string trimmers and lawn mowers) that you already have. This is an upgrade to the Ego LB5804 Energy+ 580 CFM Blawer, which we previously recommended.
The Ryobi cordless Ryobi may not be as efficient or quiet as the Ego LB6504 when it comes to power and run time, but it is more comfortable and offers better ergonomics.
Home Depot $199 * At the time of publication, it was $200
We recommend Ryobi’s 40470VNM 40V 550 CFM Cordless Leaf Blower if the Ego LB6504 is unavailable. Although it doesn’t have as much power and runtime as the Ego, this leaf blower is still very effective in dry environments. One of the best things about the Ryobi leaf blower is its quietness, even as a cordless one. Also, the ergonomic adjustable handle makes it easy to use and reduces wrist strain. Its controls don’t look as professional as the Ego. The Ryobi’s run time takes nearly 20 minutes. Ryobi, at $200, in the single battery configuration, was one of the most affordable cordless blowers that we reviewed. It is also a fantastic value when compared with other brands. Ryobi has a solid system for lawn tools, but it is not as well-designed as Ego. The battery of this tool doesn’t charge Ryobi drills or any other power tools.
The cordless Worx WG584 might not have the same power as others, but its lightweight makes it easy to use for a prolonged time.
*The price at the time of publication was $210.

Choose the Right Leaf Blower: Gas or Electric
When weighing electric vs gas, speed, convenience and budget are all important factors.
In the handheld category, gas and battery blowers can each make quick work of leaves and are still the fastest way to clear a yard full of leaves. While the most powerful corded-electric blowers will be able to tackle large tasks, it is important that you stay at least 100 feet away from any power outlets. These are the longest outdoor extension cords. The disadvantages of gas handheld leaf blowers is that they can travel anywhere but are bulkier and heavier than corded electronics. They also require fueling and maintenance. The cordless electric leaf blowers (also known as battery-powered leaf blowers) offer the same power and run time as gas models. However, they can only last for 8-30 minutes per charge.
A vacuum is also a useful feature in handheld blowers. This allows you to collect leaves and stragglers as well. But their relatively small tubes limit how much you can vacuum at once, making them best for really small yards, where you can bag up the mulched leaves.
Although backpack blowers are more expensive than handheld blowers they can transfer more weight and power from your arms and back to your shoulders and back. A backpack is 22 pounds. But, it can still be more light than a 10 pound handheld blower. These backpacks are great for big lawns. They can either be powered by a standard gas-powered backpack or an electric-powered battery model. These battery types are relatively new in the field. We tested them and found they can be just as powerful as gas for sweeping power.
Do you have a lot of leaves or a flat property? Wheeled blowers pack the most power by far. The biggest cost of these types is also because they take up the most space and are difficult to maneuver and control. You’ll find them best suited for big, flat areas that border the forest. You can’t push the plants up hills. It is also easy to forget to put leaves in neighbor’s yards.

Although fall foliage is something many enjoy, it’s not always necessary to litter their lawn with fallen leaves. And while raking the leaves into a jumpable pile in your backyard can seem tempting, the work behind it can be a hassle. Instead, many people rely on leaf blowers to tidy up their lawns and avoid overexerting themselves.
Thumbtack’s home expert David Steckel said that a leaf blower can be your friend for quickly clearing out fallen leaves, debris, and dust. According to Steckel, a leaf blower can help clear your porch or walkways from accumulated leaves and dust. It also helps clean out garages after projects. This gardening tool can be used to clean up grass clippings left over from mowing the lawn or for cleaning debris off driveways and sidewalks.
With several types of leaf blowers to choose from, finding the right one for you depends on how you actually plan on using it. To help you determine what you should consider before purchasing a leaf blower, we consulted lawncare and landscaping experts to get their tips and recommendations.
Some things to think about when looking for a leaf blower

Make sure you choose the correct type of leafblower.
The gas-powered leaf blower/vacs include everything you need to make it a mulching machine. Most of the best blowers have a metal impeller, which can shred leaves and twigs. An estimate of the power of a blower can be expressed as mph (miles per hour) and cubic feet per second (cfm). Cfm is a better representation of the work the machine can do; the higher the number, the more air it moves. Manufacturers give both dimensions.
They require no maintenance compared to gas-powered engines. The ones in this review allow you to convert from blowing to vacuuming by just flipping a switch. Each conversion requires that the gas-powered versions be fitted with new parts.
Cordless blowers are quieter than gas blowers and emit less smoke. These blowers also use less power so are best for quick cleanup after mowing.
The power of gas and mobility of backpack blowers are without any strain on the arms. The backpack can be worn for many hours with no discomfort. Handheld blowers are uncomfortable after only 45 minutes.
The decibel (dB) readings for all blowers were taken from 50 feet away. While this distance may be too far for neighbours, it is sufficient for those who use these machines.

This is the best backpack leaf blower
The blasters that are most effective in clearing the yard were tested.
The backpack leaf blower is one of the most effective tools for dealing with the annual onslaught of falling leaves. They are much more powerful and larger than the tools you have at your disposal. If you are looking for leaf-moving power with some convenience and are prepared to accept the compromises that we have highlighted below, consider investing in a backpack mower. We’ve tested many in preparation for fall yard work, so read on for our insights, findings, and recommendations.
Consider these things: First of all, the engine or motor makes a lot noise. Second, the air that they blow also causes a lot more noise. They do the same job in half the time as a hand-held or rake, but take a fraction the effort.
Because they are lightweight, backpack leaf blowers can make leaf clearing easier. You also gain efficiency because you can more easily stop blowing leaves, drop the blower tube from your hand without having to find a place to set it down, and move a gas grill or some yard furniture out of the way before resuming. On the other hand, these are bulkier machines and can take up more space in your garage or shed.
More power is an attractive proposition when it comes to clearing leaves because it helps you get the job done more quickly. On the other hand, bigger engines or motors are required, as well as batteries and fans. You also need weight. The largest weight gainers reach 30 pounds. You may find that this is too much weight depending on your ability, age, and interests. A lighter, more powerful blower may help you be more agile. Noting that more powerful blowers produce more resistance than less powerful blowers, it is important to remember. The effort of pushing back against the recoil is tiring.
The next step is to think about the amount of machine that you’ll need, and how your work style will be affected by backpack blowers. Big jobs require larger and more powerful machines. However, it’s not a good idea to get a machine with fewer capabilities than what’s needed for the job. Working alone or working with others? Will you supplement the backpack with a handheld blower or even a leaf rake? Do you think a mower or bagger should be part of your leaf-clearing equipment? Combining different methods can maximize efficiency while still being cost-effective for many. You can combine our data with your previous experience to make an informed purchase.
The Test Methods We collected backpack leaf blowers from gas-engine to large battery powered models. We tested gas and battery powered backpacks. We then went to work clearing leaves, yard debris, and sawdust.
On battery-powered units, we measured continuous run time with the machines set to maximum power. Accurately measuring speed of air was not easy. To do that, we purchased an MGL Avionics Stratomaster Vega air speed indicator (anemometer) for an airplane, powered it with a 12-volt DC power source, and built our own testing apparatus, gauging the air speed six inches from the tip of the blower tube. A sound level at 75 feet was measured as well. A sawdust erosion test was used to help visualize the stream of air emitted by the blower. Taped a section of pavement to cover it. We then used the sawdust erosion test to see how the wind shaped the area. A second test we did was to see how long it took for the leaves to be blown out of a rectangle. We also checked whether our larger blowers would skim bricks on pavement. That helps us determine how concentrated its air stream is.
Apart from recording data, features like the ergonomics and visibility of fuel tanks and shoulder straps, as well as their adjustability and comfort were also examined. These are the top eight leaf blowers.
What Are The Different Kinds Of Leaf Blowers?
These leaf blowers come in three main types: gas-powered engines, electric motors, and battery-powered ones.
To get electric leaf blowers’ power, they use long extension cables. They are lighter than regular gas leaf blowers and less noisy than cordless ones. However, they emit no harmful toxins into the atmosphere and can be a bit cumbersome.
A battery-powered cordless model: The cordless option offers many advantages over an electric leaf blower. It is lightweight (usually under 10 pounds), quiet, and doesn’t require an extension cable.
Gas-powered Leaf blowers: A gas-powered leaf blower will give you the most power for taking care those pesky leaves. However, greater power means more weight, higher noise levels, and worse air quality due to fuel burning. In fact, a 2011 test by Edmunds found that a commercial-grade leaf blower emitted more pollution than several car models. Yikes!
If you’re ready to fight those fallen leaves, we have compiled a list of top-rated leaf blowers to help keep your yard looking autumnal.
