CVS is unable to cash checks in stores starting 2022. Customers will need to go to another retailer like Walmart, Kroger or Safeway or to a local bank or credit union in order to have their checks cashed. CVS can accept both personal and business cheques for payment.
Where Can I Cash A Check Instead Of CVS?

Walmart, for example, can cash many checks including government checks, payroll checks, and tax refunds.
Walmart charges $3 to cash checks over $1,000 or $6 to cash checks worth $1,000 to $5,000.
Safeway is another retail chain that cashes printed payroll and government checks at its stores, charging $2.25 for every $200 cashed.
Kroger can cash your government, payroll and tax refund checks.

Wegman’s locations can also cash personal or traveler checks to the value of $500 as well rebate checks to amounts up to $20. Luckily, their check cashing services are free to all Shopper’s Club cardholders.
Is CVS able to accept personal or business checks as a form of payment?
CVS will not accept cash but you can pay in store with personal or business check for any of your products and services.
When paying by check you must have a government-issued photo ID. CVS makes use of the TeleCheck electronic system for verifying checks and before they are accepted as payment.
CVS will not give cashback to customers who pay with checks. Instead, they recommend that cashback be paid with debit, credit, or in-store ATMs.
