Walmart, it seems, has attained global domination, as the largest retailer in the entire world, beating out even Amazon (so far).
Global sales, particularly of discounted goods, are fierce and competitive.
There are stores all over the world, including China. It is reasonable to wonder if Walmart has a presence in India. You won’t find the answer to your question if I don’t have it.

Flipkart is an Indian-founded e-commerce firm that Walmart bought in 2018.
This company, with seemingly infinite resources available to them, is clear in its determination for the most unobtrusive entry to new markets.
While this may seem difficult, it is possible to forget that different cultures, and even different buyers, might not regard the American approach to retail as the pleasant, enjoyable experience U.S. residents enjoy.
Walmart was not the only company to enter the UK through acquisitions of Asda stores.
It’s therefore not surprising they decided to go a different way than opening Supercenters in a country where the population density is about 1,100 per square mile.
Walmart India or Delhi: Where can you shop?
Although there is no Walmart Supercenter, Discount Stores or Neighborhood Marts located in India’s capital Delhi or India itself, it is possible to still purchase their Indian products.
Of course, that includes the Flipkart website, anywhere, any time. You will find an Amazon-meets–Wish feeling on the site as well as its apps.
On the first page, you will find a range of items, from ceiling fans to watches to smartphones to chocolate.
However, if brick-and-mortar is what you are looking for in India and Delhi there are some options. But with one caveat.

This leads to the obvious question: “Why is there no Walmart in India?”

India has the third largest economy worldwide, but nearly one-third is still poor.

Back in 2012 , when some economic regulations relaxed a bit, Walmart did apply to the Indian government for permission to open some branded stores.
But nothing happened. Walmart was wise in entering India in this manner in 2018, “infiltrating” so to speak and setting up shop through the existing retail network.
