  • Walmart Late Policy In 2022
  • Walmart’s late policy uses a points system. Walmart associates who arrive 15- to 2-hours late for their shift will have 1/2 point deducted. An associate who arrives late more than 50% of their scheduled shift time will receive 1 point. They also get 2 points for not showing up. Walmart associates will receive 5 points total before they are terminated.
  • Are you curious about the Walmart points system and its impact on Walmart associates? Let me tell you, this is the best information I have found.

What is The Walmart Point System and How Does It Work?

Walmart points are part of its attendance policy, which aims not to incentivize associates for tardiness and unexpected absences.

It was updated in 2019, with the number of points anyone employee could receive going from nine to five. Associates who have received more than five points risk being fired.

One point will be awarded to associates who do not attend their assigned shifts on time.

Also, employees who leave early may expect half the points, while those with unexpected absences could earn a maximum three point.

Walmart: What is the best way to report an absence/lateness?

To report an absence or if you are running late, associates will have to go to the OneWalmart website and register their absence through the designated portal.

Alternativly they may call 1-800-775-5944, or the nearest Walmart to inform the manager that you’re running behind.

If you’re feeling unwell you can view our guide on how you can call Walmart to report it.

    Walmart Allows How Many Absences

Associate will be awarded a maximum three point bonus for any unexpected absences that occur during holidays shifts, according to the Walmart points system.

For absences during standard trading periods, they will receive one point. Walmart considers an absence when a person is absent for less than half the time of their scheduled shift.

Depending on what type of absence they have, associates may be granted up to five days before being fired.

Or, they could be absent from one holiday shift and two standard shifts. They could also be terminated if they suddenly disappear from 2 holiday shifts.

    Walmart Rewards Good Attendance

Walmart offers associates the opportunity to be recognized for their attendance.

All Walmart employees, part-time or full-time, are now eligible to receive quarterly cash bonuses.

Workers with impeccable attendance records will be eligible to receive 25% more in their regular quarterly bonuses. Higher bonuses may still be offered to workers who earn one or more points.

Walmart quarterly bonuses are distributed based on a number of factors, the main one being store performance. Nearly $800 million was earned in hourly bonuses during 2019, which is the same year as attendance bonuses.

Walmart: How Do You Get in at the Counter?

Walmart employees can clock in their shifts via the GTA Time Clock app.

GTA Time Clock apps users only need to sign up with OneWalmart. You will then be asked for a password and unique user ID in order to prove your identity.

Then, once logged in, they simply have to select “Clock In” to start their shift. If they’re already in the office, they can choose to “Clock In” or “Meal Start”, “Meal End” and “Clock Out”.

  • Conclusion: Walmart Late Policy
  • Walmart’s late policy is based on a points system. Associate who arrive late or completely miss their shifts will be awarded up to 3 points. Maximum they will receive in six months is five points before their termination.

This policy is intended to dissuade tardiness in employees. However, the policy also rewards those that run on-time, with Walmart offering increased quarterly bonuses to those with few to no points.
